If you have a gas oven which uses gas marks, or if your oven doesn’t go low enough, that’s not a problem! Just follow the steps below:
- Turn the oven as low as it will go, but make sure that it actually is on and heating up.
- Hang a tea towel in between the door of the oven and the oven itself so that it keeps closed but doesn’t shut completely. This will keep the temperature down a bit more and will help any moisture to escape.
- Wait until the biltong is done. Keep in mind that it may take closer to 2 hours as the oven temperature is slightly higher, so keep an eye on your biltong.
